H.E. Ambassador Tolesa has been graduated from Addis Ababa University in Geology Bachelor Degree in 1982/83. Then he joined Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kahargupr, and studied applied geology for Two years and graduated in 1989.
H.E. Ambassador Tolesa has been Minister of Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia since 8 January 2014 up to 7 November 2016. He was also State Minister in the Ministry for over Three and half years.
Before he become State Minister, he was Director General of the Geological Surveys of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia for over Four years.
Prior to these positions, he has tirelessly served his Country in the Geological Surveys for Twenty Two years starting his ladder as a junior geologist. After long walk with ample experience he reached at the position of senior geologist and finally team leader for Regional Geological Mapping and Remote Sensing Team.
He had also worked as Geo-technical Engineer in the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Water Resources Development, especially on small scale irrigation.
